Skidi Italian Greyhounds
Skidi Italian Greyhounds is a small Italian Greyhound show kennel operated by Rev T. Scott Keneda in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The kennel began in 1991 as Skidi Siberian Huskies as Scott and Angie used show Siberian Huskies. As their kids got older and life busier they dropped out of showing and in 2007 they got their first house dog. Wanting a dog that was also athletic they decided to get an Italian Greyhound and purchased a nice young prospect Marchwind Pepper Jack. Not planning to show again, Jack grew up as the perfect companion and for five years was the only dog allowed in the house.
In 2012, with both kids in college and down to only one 12 year old husky, Scott and Angie decide to get a female Italian Greyhound to show and start a small kennel. They went back and got Raye, now Ch. Marchwind Got That Do-Re-Mi.
In 2014 Skidi had its first litter from Jack and Raye, which was a line breeding of top producer CH. Marchwind Charlie the Kidd, Jack's father and Raye's great-grandfather. The litter produced 4 boys, one of whom stayed at Skidi. Floyd is now Bronze Grand Ch. Skidi's Pretty Boy Floyd and was ranked in the Top Twenty for 2015 and 2016.
On New Year's Eve of 2015 Raye had her second litter with GCHS Piason Make My Wish Come True, producing two girls GCH. Skidi's Ain't Nobody That Can Sing Like Me and GCH. Skidi's Hear You Sing Again. This serves as the foundation of our small show kennel. Sing has won two Best in Show Owner Handled on her way to finishing 2017 as number 8 in the Owner Handled Rankings.
In 2017, Echo, GCH Skidi's Hear You Sing Again, produced the next generation when we bred out to Ch. Fiore Gimme A Jewel At Peeks Bayou and we kept two pups, BISS GCHB Skidi's This Land Is Your Land and Skidi's This Land Is My Land. In 2019 Landon was Best in Specialty Show at the Italian Greyhound Club of Greater Houston and the won Best of Opposite Sex at the IGCA National Show. Landon was in the Top Ten for 2019 in Breed, All Breed, and Owner Handled rankings. This is a huge honor and we are so proud of Landon's accomplishments. Miley got off to a great show start and then had some time off to deal with a broken leg. She is now back in the ring and needs just one major to finish her championship.
Landon is now beginning to make an impact through his children. His son, Skidi's Bohemian Rhapsody, won Best Puppy at the 2019 Nationals and he has several litters on the ground who will hit the show ring in 2020.
All our dogs have proven temperaments, show conformation, OFA certified health checks, and DNA testing. While small, we want to produce nothing but the best.
